There passed away at 8 20 p.m. on Friday last a well-known resident of the Upper Don in the person of Gottlieb Albietz, at the age of 55 years, after about a week’s illness from inflammation of the kidneys and internal complications.
Deceased was born in Bowen but had lived the greater part of his life on the farm on the Upper Don, which was originally taken up as a selection by his father. Quiet, in offensive and industrious, Gottlieb was liked and respected by all with whom he came into contact. The funeral, which left the residence of Mr. W. D. Gray on Saturday afternoon, was well attended, many old friends residing on the Upper Don and in town being present.
He leaves a wife, five sons and one daughter to mourn their loss, one son having made the supreme sacrifice.
